Watercolor Workshop: Woven Paintings

Last night in our Watercolor In studio Workshop, the artists created paintings that featured woven words throughout their watercolor paintings. It was so much fun to paint, ponder, laugh and share during our class.

Each participant painted a background paper that we then wrote and journaled on. Some wrote poetry, some wrote quotes, some wrote song lyrics and others just journaled about their day, lives, dreams, hopes and fears. I always find this project a way to help me focus and get my feelings and thoughts out without the stress of anyone actually reading what I wrote!

Once we finished our journaling and painted our background mountain scene, we cut up our journaling and watercolor background and began weaving our tapestry of handwritten words into our project.

These ladies last night were a joy! We had such fun sharing and painting. I hope they all had as much fun as I did! I can’t wait to see you all again soon!
