DIY Mini Gift Bags for End of Year Gift Certificates

Hello Creative Friends!

The end of the school year is fast approaching and we are counting the minutes until the last bell rings and the kids are out for summer. Cannot wait!

But alas, I have my yearly bus driver gift to get ready. Every year, we give him 3 gift cards, one for each kid, to thank him for being such a wonderful part of their day. He’s just the nicest man and we all love him dearly. He puts up with a lot… how DO school bus drivers do it?!?! So we like to give hime some fun gift cards every year so he can grab a coffee, go out to eat or pick himself up a nice little treat at a local store.

Each year he gets a kick out of my packaging that I make for him. I typically make gift card holders with different embellishments. One year I actually made 3 little village houses for him with all sorts of glitter (that his wife probably now hates me for!). This year I’m opting for something a little different: DIY Mini Gift Bags. I love how these turned out!

I found a great tutorial on the Septeria’s Room YouTube channel that was easy to follow and fun to create. All I needed for each bag was a 6” x 8” piece of cardstock/scrapbook paper plus some little embellishments like beads, ribbon and some decorative brads for the handle.

Since the last day of school is Thursday, I think the kids will give Jim his gift tomorrow. I hope it puts a smile on his face!
