Two hours of paper, creativity, connection & play.

A Monthly Junk Journal Social at Glimmerbug Handmade Art Studio

Those pretty papers you’ve been saving? Let’s make something lovely with them.

Join us once a month for a cozy Saturday morning of paper play, fresh ideas, and friendly company in my Harvard, Massachusetts studio. Bring your journal, your favorite scraps, and the little treasures you’ve tucked away “for something someday.” This is your time to enjoy them!

Each gathering begins with a short, approachable mini lesson. We’ll explore something you can add to your journal—a pocket for keepsakes, a lift-up flap, a tiny booklet, a hidden note, or another delightful paper surprise. Materials for the mini lesson are included.

Then settle in to work on your own journal pages, try the new technique, and enjoy creating alongside other paper-loving people. I’ll be nearby to answer questions, offer ideas, and help when you need a little inspiration.

You don’t have to feel artistic, know what you’re making, or arrive with a beautifully finished journal. Beginners are warmly welcome, and experienced journalers will enjoy dedicated creative time and new ideas to explore. Every meeting stands on its own, so you can join whenever there’s an available seat.

Bring a junk journal, art journal, or notebook, along with scissors, adhesive, pens, and any papers or embellishments you’d like to use. Photographs, old letters, tickets, gift wrap, magazine clippings, and everyday scraps all have possibilities here. If you’re just beginning, a simple starter booklet and basic supplies will be available for your first visit.

Shared studio tools, extra papers, tea, and a little treat help make it a morning to look forward to.

What to Bring to Saturday Paper Club

Bring your journal and a small collection of supplies you enjoy working with:

  • A junk journal, art journal, or notebook. Any size or style is welcome!

  • Scissors and your favorite paper adhesive, such as a glue stick, double-sided tape, or craft glue.

  • A pen or two for writing, doodling, and adding little details.

  • Papers and personal treasures you’d like to use: photographs, ticket stubs, old letters, postcards, magazine clippings, book pages, gift wrap, or interesting packaging.

  • Optional favorite embellishments: washi tape, stickers, tags, ribbon, lace, fabric scraps, or stamps.

  • A small pouch or envelope to take home loose pieces and unfinished projects.

You don’t need to bring your whole craft room—a small tote is plenty!

I’ll provide materials for our monthly mini lesson, shared studio tools, and extra papers to explore. If a particular keepsake or type of paper would be fun for the upcoming lesson, I’ll mention it in your reminder email.

Brand new to junk journaling? Come with whatever you have. A simple starter booklet and basic supplies will be available for your first visit. No special shopping trip required!
