Introducing Franklin
Hi Creative Art Villagers!
Hope you’re having a great week. I just got back from grocery shopping and the dentist for the kids and I thought I’d take a moment to introduce you to our newest pack member!
Franklin Georgie Paul (aka “Meatball Paul,” “Pibble,” “Mr. Pibbs,” “Frankie”) joined our family on Sunday. He is 9 weeks old and is a cuddle bug. Seriously the sweetest disposition on a puppy I’ve ever seen. He’s just squishy and adorable. And… he fits in with the older dogs just perfectly. They all really like him and enjoy playing with him, chasing and cuddling. It’s so cute.
Franklin is special for us. He is actually directly related to Mirabelle! He is Mirabelle’s sister Gemma’s great grandson. We are very close with our breeder and we always kept Gemma and Mirabelle in touch. Sadly, Gemma passed on two years ago and we were all devastated about it. So when this little nugget became available, it felt right to adopt him and have a piece of Gemma’s legacy with us. My husband was especially in love with Gemma, so he was just beside himself when this opportunity presented itself.
We originally thought we’d wait another year or so but because the family who had planned on adopting him fell through, we jumped at it. Not only because he is a direct descendant of Mirabelle, but also because our little black pug Lenny is only one and he really seemed to need a buddy. Dogs do better in at least pairs and the two older girl dogs have a short fuse when it comes to him wanting to play all the time. So getting Franklin has been a wonderful addition for Lenny as well. He’s having so much fun playing, wrestling, chasing, cuddling. It’s adorable to see.
So I’ll be on baby duty with him, training him and getting him acclimated. I know, twist my arm, right?? Look at that face!!!
