Resort Realty in Outer Banks Photo Contest and I’m a Finalist!

I miss vacation. The last one we took as a family of 5 before college girl moved out. Wish I was there right now!

It’s been about a month since we had our vacation at the loveliest beach house out on Outer Banks and I’m wishing we were still there. All the hustle and bustle as we got our oldest ready for college was exciting this summer, but winding down the summer with a week out in paradise was just what the whole family needed. It was epically relaxing, with days filled with beach, reading, ice cream cones and plain old fashioned family time. It was one that we will all remember so fondly as the last summer vacation as a family of 5.

I snapped this photo on one of the nights when we came home from getting an ice cream at the end of the road, and sat enjoying the sunset. Hubby had bought some lovely white wine at the local shop and I sat out on the deck, listening to the gulls and watching the sun turn the sky a multitude of colors across Pamlico Sound. I remember thinking just how pretty the sky looked with the wine glass in the foreground. And this photo really just represents what a lovely and relaxing vacation it was.

This is our spot. We’ve decided. This will be our go-to spot for future family vacations, at this house, in this village, on this beach. We can see ourselves visiting here for years to come, and hopefully with a house full of kids, grandkids and family and friends.
