Remembering Haddie B.

Back in December, I shared a news article about a little girl named Hadley from our old town Lunenburg, MA. Her story around this area is huge, because for such a little girl, her battle with an inoperable brain tumor has been front and center in pretty much everyone’s minds. It’s devastating for such a young child to have to face such harsh realities, especially that of a 7 year old. A first grader who should be participating in all the end of school activities, field days, ice cream trucks, swimming, friends, dolls, sand castles and everything else a child that age should be enjoying.

Instead, I share the sad news that Haddie B. has passed away.

And it just makes me so sad. I can’t imagine what her family, friends, teachers, classmates and surrounding community must be feeling. It’s not fair. It’s not right. And my heart aches for this child and the immeasurable loss that everyone must feel now that her battle is over.

I’m attaching her obituary below for anyone who would like to read it. She sounded like an amazing child. Rest in peace, Haddie B. You will never be forgotten.
