Hey there! Long time no art. Well, not actually NO art. Just not stuff I've been creating to sell on my site. I've taken a bit of a break to make a few things for my kids and their American Girl dolls. And I've been having a ball doing it, too!
First thing I did was create a Thanksgiving meal for our dolls. Since my girls are just obsessed with their dolls (really, my 7 year old is. My 9 year old just loves to organize and set things up for them), she made sure that we create a Thanksgiving meal for our girls and boys to enjoy. So I got busy making a turkey, stuffing and sides for the feast!
I watched a bunch of videos to get ideas for how to create such a delicious treat and found that the ones on the My Froggy Stuff blog were the winner with easy to follow directions and using items that we already had in the house. She's got a ton of really awesome projects that seem very easy to do and come out really cute. We'll have to try more out another time!
Next up on my project list was to create a Hot Cocoa Stand for the American Girl Dolls. There's one that they have on their website for the Wellie Wishers, but since we don't have any of those (and really aren't very interested in them), I had to take matters into my own hands. Out came the saved cardboard, paperboard and foam and I got started constructing the hot cocoa stand!
Following the directions from Just Craft It on Youtube, I began my project and it took me a few hours a day over the course of a couple days. Not bad for my first attempt at making an actual "building" type of thing!
I just went downstairs into our American Girl haven and gave the hot cocoa stand to my girls and they were really excited, which was nice. Always nice to have them appreciate something you work hard on, right?!
Here are a few more pics of the hot cocoa stand.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends!
